Hi I’m Effie,

Founder, Female Warrior & Expert Hairstylist, Makeup Artist, and Photographer at Just Be — The Beauty Room.

My journey to founding Just Be - the beauty room

started 20 years ago when I began my career in Hair & Makeup. I trained with the highly accredited Bumble & Bumble University in NYC, specialized in razor cutting techniques, and attended workshops at Nick Arrojo‘s hair academy, Toni and Guy, Sebastian, Redken, and Wella. While in cosmetology school I worked as Clarins cosmetics’ in-house makeup artist in Boston where my eye for all kinds of beauty truly developed. When it comes to my third love photography, I have traveled around the US to train with Lindsay Adler and Sue Bryce who are the best when it comes to women's fashion and modern glamour portraitures.

It wasn’t until I started a passion project where I gave women free makeovers and took pictures of the results did the idea of Just Be - The Beauty Room really come to fruition. I would capture these women’s transformations through my lens to see how empowered and uniquely beautiful they were.
That is when I realized that by learning photography, I would be able to share what I created through beautiful imagery. This experience holds a special place in my heart and has inspired my mission to bring out beauty from the inside out for all my clients.

I make sure that I am keeping up to date with the newest techniques in the Hair, Makeup, and Photography industries, so my clients not only look and feel amazing, but are in the know with the latest trends.

I love doing hair, makeup and photography because each connects the dots to helping a woman see her authentic beauty.

That is why I made it my mission to build confidence one woman at a time. I believe that you are enough and you are amazing exactly as you are right now..not 20 lbs from now, not 20 years ago.
